3/25/10 Class 14 Reaction

I have a lot of questions on this chapter....just need some clarifications....

1). Could you go over the differences between cloud computing, network computing, and thick computers?

2). What did you want us to know about the top layers of OSI and TCP/IP models?

I have been playing around with the second access assignment and I still can't find the extra credit part (total values for each company), could you give me a hint or at least point me in the right direction??

Thick clients are desktop and laptop PCs with full functionality to store data and process data (e.g., with Access or Excel stored on the PC).

Thin clients (aka network computing) are machines that ONLY have the capability of surfing to a network where data and programs are stored (too small memory on the thin client to store data or programs).

Cloud computing occurs when the network is located in cyberspace as opposed to a company having its own servers with data and software on them.

Keep playing with ALL the options in the report wizard....
